Yep you heard right, Megan Fox, one of the most beautiful young women to grace the cover of Maxim magazine, includes fats as part of her diet regime. The abs she sports in the movies Transformers and Transformers 2 were courtesy of a serious work out regime involving planks and core exercises, and a diet of fruits, vegetables, lean meats and fat.
Megan takes a very basic, simplistic approach to her diet program. She eschews grains based on the claim that hunters and gatherers never ate grains, only fruits and vegetables for energy. While the verdict on no-grain diets isn’t in yet, doctors recommend we get five healthy servings of whole grains a day. Consulting with your own personal physician to determine the best way for you to lose weight is the safest option for every individual. But there is one thing she is right about; we definitely need some fat in our diet and there are several healthy sources of fat, including eggs, avocados and nuts (especially almonds).
Fat eaten in moderation is essential to how your body processes vitamins, maintains brain funcion, produces energy and re-generates cells. Consuming healthy fats can also improve the condition of your hair and skin, which is definitely a plus.
So get your healthy fat on and as always happy eating!
