Q&A with Mitch Glazer

Q&A: Mitch Glazer on Megan Fox, Mickey Rourke, and His New Miami Gangster Series.

Hollywood just hasn’t been the same since Mitch Glazer moved back to Miami. The screenwriter and his wife, Kelly Lynch, usually keep benevolent watch over the movie crowd’s social scene from their breathtaking Lautner house up in the hills, but they are currently sweating away in the Sunshine State on Magic City, a new series for Chris Albrecht’s Starz network. West Coast editor Krista Smith caught up with Glazer to talk about the new show and his directorial debut, Passion Play, which opens in limited release today.

Here is a snippet of the interview:

In Hollywood, it’s amazing to have relationships that last so long. In the end, those are always the relationships that come through for you.

Every time. And you know, Megan was so stand-up. I had never seen Transformers. I saw a few scenes from Jennifer’s Body, and that’s it. And then I had lunch with her at Little Dom’s. I was looking for Gene Tierney or Ava Gardner, and I’ve never seen anything like it. She felt vulnerable and really got the character and I just decided: She’s it. I didn’t realize the level of her Internet fame and that whole thing—it’s an age thing for me. I just didn’t get it. For me she was just this incredible face and this timeless, iconic-looking woman. Then she gets on set and Mickey pulls me aside after their first scene. “Mitchell,” he says, “she’s fucking amazing! Oh my God, it’s going to be so good!”

She holds her own with those two giants.

And both of them will tell you that. I mean, they are generous actors but they are terrifying, and if she couldn’t keep up Mickey would have dropped her on the spot.

Brian Austin Green said wife Megan Fox is `unique`

Desperate Housewives actor Brian Austin Green has gushed about his wife Megan Fox and said she’s ‘unique’.

The 37-year-old actor married Fox, 24, in June this year after dating on and off for the last six years.

Asked about his former Transformers star wife, he said to Access Hollywood: ‘She’s just, she’s unique. She gets it. In a business that is as crazy as it is, she gets it and the most important thing in the world to her is family and private time and not this.

‘We got to these events. She goes to premieres and literally will walk the red carpet, walk out the back door and go home and take off all the stuff and then we’ll go have dinner somewhere or go see a movie.’

Brian gushes to Details Magazine about Megan

Since leaving the 90210 ZIP code, the actor has endured cracks about his hair, his rap album, and his flagging career. But he wakes up next to Megan Fox every morning, so who’s laughing now?

Details: Do the paparazzi hound you?
Brian Austin Green: It wasn’t so much of a problem before Megan, but once Transformers hit, that was it. I had never experienced paparazzi on that level, because during 90210 they were still developing pictures and selling them by hand. It was a whole different experience.

Details: Does Megan tease you about this new ab-conscious role?
Brian Austin Green: She does. She busts my balls just enough to make me laugh and not feel self-conscious about what I’m doing. She’s good about it.

Details: You’ve married Megan Fox and turned her into a stepmom—not the role most of us imagine her in.
Brian Austin Green: She is absolutely my better half in parenting. She just gets it. It’s instinctual for her. She loves my son, Kassius. And from the time we started dating—you know, she was 18—she stepped in and took control. It’s unbelievable. At 18, I was like, “Hey, which club is open tonight? And how cool do my pants look? Can I sneak a drink across the bar without getting caught?”

Details: Was the nearly 13-year age difference a concern at any point?
Brian Austin Green: When we met, I had just separated from Kash’s mom and a relationship was the last thing on my mind. It’s not something I ever thought would be serious. But she brought out parts of me that I had lost in my last relationship. I had come off of 90210, and I never wanted to leave my house. I was afraid of the press. I was afraid of people’s opinions of me. I would walk into a Coffee Bean and not want to look the guy behind the counter in the eyes because I was afraid he was thinking, “Oh, that’s that ridiculous guy from 90210 who put out the hip-hop album.” Megan was a big part of boosting my confidence. And at the same time, I was somebody responsible and grounded for her to be around. We just matched.

Megan Fox: “I Married My Best Friend”

Months after their romantic sunset ceremony on the beach in Hawaii, Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green are still reveling in married bliss.

“Getting married was the best thing I’ve ever done,” Fox tells PEOPLE at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Passion Play on Friday. “I married my best friend. I’m so lucky to get to be with him every day, and he’s my protector. I feel so safe and happy and completed.”

For his part, Green, 37, knows that Fox, 24, was the person he was meant to marry – even if it took a while.

“[Marriage is] the one thing that I was really specific in waiting for until I was with somebody that I knew that I would be right with and she’s the one,” he tells PEOPLE. “She makes me happy and a better person. She’s everything.”

Why Marry?
After dating on-and-off for years, why did they decide to tie the knot in June?

“We’ve been together for six years and it was just time,” says Green, who will be guest starring on Desperate Housewives this fall. “We were like, ‘Let’s just make it official.’ “

Stability at Home

“There’s nice stability that comes with getting married,” he says. “It’s a nice thing to know that I’ll come home to her and she’ll come home to me. It’s not the paper so much – it’s saying the vows and meaning it.”

As for raising the actor’s 8-year-old son Kassius, Green says Fox has been playing that role for years.

“She’s a great mom,” he says. “She’s helped me raise him since he was two. He loves her to death and she loves him to death. They have a great relationship. That’s all I can ask for.”

Fox thinks parenthood suits her, too. “I’ve been a stepmother for six years and it’s amazing,” she says. “I really enjoy it. It’s a lot of work but I like it. It grounds me. I like being domestic.”

Could there be another child on the way? “I would love to be a biological mommy some day,” Fox says. “That would make me very happy.”

Red Band Trailer with Diablo Cody

A very pregnant Diablo Cody interviews Megan inside her airstream trailer. They talk about Megan moving to Hollywood at age 17 with her mother and living at Oakwood Apartments that house child-star actors like Shia LaBeouf and Hilary Duff. They talk about press sound bites and Kelly Ripa then play “Price is Right” in which Megan wins a singing fish. This is the carefree / relaxed Megan that I love the most!
